WFM Hockey
Game rules
WFM Hockey is a fantasy management game where users build their own lineup from players in the Slovak and Canadian-American leagues. The goal is to score as many fantasy points as possible based on real player performances in individual game rounds.
1. Team lineup
For every game round, the user builds a starting lineup of six players:
- 1 goaltender,
- 2 defensemen,
- 3 forwards.
The user also selects three position substitutes: one goalie (G), one defenceman (D) and one forward (F). If the official game statistics show that a starter did not appear, that starter scores no points and the substitute at the same position is evaluated instead. One substitute can replace only one player per round; for multiple absences at the same position the first open slot is replaced. A substitute does not inherit the captain multiplier.
Each player can only be placed in a position that matches his real playing position.
2. Lineup captain
You may select one player from the starting lineup as captain. The captain earns double points. A lineup without a captain saves automatically too, but receives no captain multiplier.
3. Player usage limit
The same rhythm applies in the Slovak and Canadian-American leagues: a player may appear in two consecutive real games of his club. After two confirmed appearances, he rests for the next game and then becomes ready again.
The limit does not follow calendar weeks or league-wide round counts. It follows the real schedule of each player’s team.
Ready
The player may be selected for two consecutive club games. After the first appearance, he remains ready for the second.
Resting
After the second consecutive confirmed appearance, the player misses his team’s next real game. His status then automatically changes to Ready.
What counts
A use is confirmed only when the club plays and official statistics show that the player appeared. A postponed or cancelled game, or a player who did not appear, does not consume a use.
Example: a player appears in your lineup on Monday and Wednesday. He must rest for his club’s next real game on Saturday. He is ready again for the following game. A non-appearance in official statistics breaks the streak and does not count as a use.
Before official statistics are processed, the selection is treated as a provisional use. If the player is later confirmed not to have appeared, the status is corrected and the use is not counted.
4. Automatic lineup saving
Every lineup change saves automatically. You do not need to click Save or confirm your lineup separately. This applies to player selections, substitutes and the captain in both the Slovak fantasy league and the Canadian-American Fantasy League.
An incomplete lineup with at least one starter is eligible for scoring. Empty starting positions score zero; a captain and substitutes are optional. The full starting lineup has 1 goalie, 2 defensemen and 3 forwards.
Before leaving, check that the lineup status confirms the save. If saving fails or your connection drops, follow the status message and retry saving. The last successfully saved lineup is used for scoring. Position, rest and deadline restrictions still apply.
5. Detailed scoring for every position

One save-percentage bonus from the tiers below is added to the total.
How skater points add up
F1, F2 and F3 use identical scoring, as do D1 and D2. A power-play or short-handed point is a goal or assist at that strength. These bonuses are added to the base goal or assist points. The game-winning goal bonus goes only to its scorer and can stack with a power-play or short-handed bonus. Only officially recorded shots on goal count; missed and blocked attempts do not.
Forward example: 1 power-play goal, 1 assist and 4 shots on goal = 5 + 1 + 3 + (4 × 0.5) = 11 points. If the goal was also the game winner, the total is 12. A defenseman with the same stats earns 13 points, or 14 with the game winner.
Goaltender save-percentage bonus
- Below 90%: 0 points.
- 90% inclusive to below 92%: +1 point.
- 92% inclusive to below 94%: +2 points.
- 94% inclusive to below 96%: +3 points.
- 96% inclusive to below 100%: +4 points.
- 100% without an officially credited shutout: +4 points (for example, a relief goalie).
- 100% with an officially credited shutout: +5 points.
Only one tier applies: the +5 shutout bonus replaces +4; they do not stack. A bonus requires at least one shot against and an available save percentage. A rounded display of 100% or a team shutout alone does not qualify for +5; the shutout must be officially credited to that goalie. The tier uses the stored numeric percentage, not the rounded percentage shown on the card.
Goalie example: a win, 28 saves on 30 shots and 93.33% saves = 3 + (28 × 0.15) + 2 = 9.2 points. A win, 30 saves on 30 shots and an official shutout = 3 + 4.5 + 5 = 12.5 points. Wins and overtime losses follow the goalie’s officially credited decision, not automatically every goalie on that team.
Captain, substitutes and lineup total
- The starting captain (forward, defenseman or goalie) receives ×2 on the entire score including bonuses. For example, 11 points → 22. Without a selected captain, no points are doubled.
- BF, BD and BG use forward, defenseman and goalie scoring respectively. Bench points are not added separately: a substitute scores only when replacing a selected non-participant at the same position. One substitute replaces at most one player, in slot order F1 → F2 → F3 or D1 → D2 if several are absent.
- A substitute does not inherit the captain multiplier. A player who appeared is not replaced merely for scoring zero. An empty starting slot scores zero and is not automatically filled from the bench.
- The lineup total sums the six starting slots after substitutions and the captain multiplier. Player points are rounded to one decimal place for settlement; the final lineup total is displayed to one decimal place.
What does not score
Plus/minus, penalty minutes, hits, blocked shots, faceoffs and ice time neither add nor deduct points. Goals against and regulation losses carry no separate deduction; goals against do affect save percentage and its bonus. Missing statistics are not a confirmed zero performance; results depend on processing official data.
6. Strategic principle
A successful manager must think not only about whom to select, but also when to use him.
7. WFM credits and paid features
Credits unlock optional additional features. The WFM Wildcard grants one precisely limited rest exception; the scoring formula stays unchanged, but the Wildcard expands lineup choices and can affect points and rankings. No result or prize is guaranteed.
How much paid features cost
Multiple games: the game count remains context for the selection; the price stays at 10 or 20 credits per lineup selection.
Credits added
The 50 welcome credits are added automatically. A purchased package is credited only after the server successfully confirms the payment.
Safe charging
Credits are deducted only when the feature is performed. The same operation is not charged twice; an insufficient balance prevents activation and the account cannot fall below zero.
Balance control
The current balance, available options and server transaction history are available under WFM credits.
Credit value: WFM credits are a virtual service unit, can only be used in the owner’s account, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Owner badge: after the first credit purchase, a W symbol labelled “WFM credit owner” appears next to the username. The welcome bonus alone does not activate this symbol.
